And I Think I Like It

For the Chronicles of Work workshop What’s Work Worth? Danielle Adair performed alongside three videos from her And I Think I Like It. series, which was one of her ongoing projects while in residence at Solitude. And I Think I Like It. is a collection of thirteen “video song-poems,” which include original text, sound, and animations, with accompanying performances in presentation. The series began in 2011 and points to an anxiety, ennui, and, similarly, induced freedoms within the United States’ political landscape over the past two years – notably, the United States‘ presidential reelection years. Segments of the project were performed at the Human Resources and Monte Vista Projects in Los Angeles/USA, and The Kiesel in Friedrichshafen/Germany. Selected videos have also been presented in performance at The Standard Hotel (Los Angeles/USA), Bruno Glint Gallery (London/Great Britain), the Akademie Schloss Solitude’s Römerstraße project space (Stuttgart/Germany), and Gallery White Projects (Paris/France). Additionally, a majority of the song-poems from the project have been featured in art and small press publications.
